Julie Taberman has been involved with energy healing since the early 1980’s when she learned to use Therapeutic Touch. In 1995 she took Reiki I with Libby Barnett and Maggie Chambers, then continued to study with Cynthia Greer and received a certificate as a Usui Reiki Master Teacher in the Takata tradition in 1999. In 2013 Julie took another Reiki Master training with Audrey and James Pearson who are students of contemporary Japanese Reiki Master, Hiroshi Doi. This training emphasized the rich tradition of Japanese Reiki techniques that were not included in her original training and considerably broadened her skills and understanding. Most recently, in May 2016, Julie studied with William Lee Rand of the International Center of Reiki Training, and received her third Master’s Level training in Holy Fire® / Karuna® Reiki. This form of Reiki feels much stronger and has increased her intuitive connection to the process.
Julie also got a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy at Tufts in 1993 and incorporated Reiki into her work with patients in rehabilitation, acute care, and home care throughout her career. She lives with her husband in Jamaica Plain and when she is not doing Reiki she likes to garden, hike, bicycle, read, spend time with her grandchildren, and do volunteer work.
